5 pictures to make you smile this January

Bringing you a collection of pictures each month showing our work, our beautiful donkeys and how your support helps.

Thank you from Georgie

We were touched when thousands of you sent donations and get well cards to Georgie, after he became extremely unwell and needed a life-saving operation.

We urgently need to build a better hospital to treat more donkeys like Georgie. Find out more here.

Welcome to the family

Harry the mule was relinquished to the Sanctuary in January 2016.  At 8-months-old, he is the youngest mule in our care, and isn’t he a cutie?

Harry is very nervous.  He has befriended two donkeys called Jack and Silver, who he follows everywhere!

Our staff are trained in mule behaviour, and will work with Harry to understand him and help him overcome his nerves.

Rhubarb's had her foal!

Do you remember the story of Rhubarb, Apple, Custard and Pie - the four Yorkshire donkeys we rescued last year?

Well, we are pleased to announce that Rhubarb gave birth to a beautiful foal!

Hannah Bryer, our Senior Welfare Adviser has written a blog about mother and daughter.

Find out what we named her, and why such a fine name was chosen.

Rupert’s beautiful smile
Donkeys have the best smiles! …they also make excellent alarm clocks too.  Don't believe us?  Then join us for ‘Bray and Stay’.

Camp in the grounds with our  team, enjoy a hearty evening meal and take a guided sunset nature walk with our resident wildlife expert, followed by a cosy camp fire.

Wake up to a full team breakfast and a VIP donkey experience.

Games between hinnies Hearts and Demo at our Sanctuary in Italy.

A hinny is a cross between donkey mother and horse father.

To hear more about hinnies, read Welfare Adviser Mark Kerr’s blog about Cactus and his friend Oscar.
